Job description

As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will oversee the backbone of our digital infrastructure. You are the expert who ensures that critical Oracle databases operate reliably, securely, and efficiently. This role allows you to fully apply and expand your skills in database management, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and solving complex technical challenges. You will play a key role in system releases and IT projects while safeguarding stability through thorough documentation and structured change management.Key Responsibilities:* Database Operations & Infrastructure: You design, configure, and secure Oracle databases, ensuring their continuous availability. You will also monitor and manage essential components such as Data Guard to protect system continuity. * Incident Resolution & Projects: You take ownership of diagnosing and resolving advanced technical issues. You actively contribute to IT projects, guaranteeing databases remain modern, stable, and aligned with organizational needs. * Collaboration & Support: You act as the go-to contact for all database-related matters within the organization. You will also maintain close communication with vendors and internal teams to optimize system performance.

Requirements

  • At least three years of proven experience in a comparable role. * Strong expertise in implementing, managing, scripting, and tuning Oracle databases. * Proficiency with Unix/Linux operating systems. * Experience with Oracle versions 12c through 19c and beyond. * Knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery. * Familiarity with scripted Data Guard setups. * Bachelor-level working and thinking skills. * Fluency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken. * Solid references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process. * Permanent EU citizenship, due to the defense-related nature of our projects.
