System engineer

• Perform daily system administration and management activities, including configuration adjustments, deployments, and testing of operating systems, virtual machines, and related software.
• Resolve system and operational issues by identifying corrective measures or improvements in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Deploy releases and updates according to the Change Management process.
• Participate in planning and implementation of system or network projects, ensuring adherence to defined processes, procedures, and risk mitigation practices.
• Collaborate with network services, software systems engineering, and application development teams to ensure service availability and identify root causes of issues.
• Automate administrative tasks and improve system monitoring to enhance efficiency and meet customer and departmental requirements.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of service resilience designs and operational principles.
• Maintain appropriate security levels across systems and daily operations.

Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * University degree in IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience., * Over 10 years of proven experience in a similar role., * Self-driven and adaptable, capable of responding effectively to change.

Technical Skills

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, storage, hardware, backup, and system monitoring (SCOM).
• Solid understanding of Windows domain and system administration, including Active Directory and Group Policy (GPO) management and implementation.
• Good understanding of networking concepts and TCP/IP.
• Proficiency in VMware administration and PowerShell scripting.
• Proficiency in SCCM - capable of creating packages and applications, with a clear understanding of collections and deployments. Prior patching experience in SCCM is a plus.
• Flexible team player able to work effectively in an Agile environment.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required; proficiency in French or Dutch is an asset.
