Backend Engineer

They are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to come on board and really make an impact. You will work alongside a small (but growing!) talented Backend Engineer team as part of a collaborative engineering team. You'll have the opportunity to help shape the evolution of their backend architecture while contributing to a supportive environment that values innovation and quality., * Collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering and our wider engineering team.

• Take shared ownership of our backend architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Build and maintain high-quality code base using Kotlin, Docker and microservice architecture.
• Contribute to a culture of excellence by reviewing code, mentoring peers, and sharing knowledge with the team.
• Work with DevOps team to improve monitoring, supportability and reliability of backend services
• Actively participate in team discussions, explaining your solutions clearly while remaining open to feedback and suggestions.

• 8+ years' experience as a backend engineer
• Kotlin (or Java) and Spring Boot knowledge
• Standard Kotlin (Java) library & best practices
• Design patterns
• Performance optimisations
• PostgreSQL knowledge
• AI-savviness, curiosity and enthusiasm - proven optimisation of your workflows through AI
• User level experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience working on a scalable high-available micro-service architecture platform
• Fluent level spoken and written English is a must!
