Job description

  • We're looking for a collaborative & experienced SW Engineer to join our global Workload Services Framework (WSF) engineering organization supporting next-generation engineering innovations delivering scalable high-quality E2E workloads & SW stacks for media workloads supporting Intel NEX roadmap.
  • This role includes design, integration, benchmarking, performance analysis& optimizations, and publishing collaterals for media SW services & solutions. In this role you will analyze existing media SW services and workloads to determine technical requirements, potential solutions, and required automation for scale, and drive resolution working across teams and organizations as necessary. You are a strong hands-on engineer who can design, implement, and deploy holistic solutions harnessing both hardware and software ingredients to solve real-world customer usage problems. You will leverage and enhance existing architectures/solutions and fill in gaps to stand up end-to-end media software solutions.
  • This position requires a broad understanding of media systems and necessitates interfacing with Architecture, Design, and Validation teams. You are expected to understand the full solution - top-to-bottom that includes HW platforms (Pre and Post Silicon), FW and layers of media SW(driver, framework, etc.) - in order to effectively root cause issues and collaborate with cross-functional HW, FW and SW teams to solve complex issues.

Requirements

Must have:

  • Proficiency in ffmpeg, gstreamer, libva, and other relevant media frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of media codecs(x264, x265 etc) and video analytics.
  • Experience with video streaming technologies and protocols.
  • Solid knowledge of video processing algorithms and techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex media-related issues.
  • Excellent programming skills in languages like C/C++, Python, Shell etc., * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in media and video workload development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working on multimedia projects., * Master's or higher degree in a relevant field
  • More than 5 years of relevant industry experience in media and video workload development
  • Experience with hardware acceleration(CPU or GPU) for media processin
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in media technologies and video standards
  • Previous contributions to open-source media projects
  • Hands-on experience optimizing media system firmware, kernel, drivers, framework
  • Strong Team player, collaborative, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly define and communicate problems with strong influencing skills and working across multiple groups and sites and drive for alignment and problem resolution.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
