Job description
We're looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer who thrives on solving complex security challenges and is ready to elevate their impact. This role blends hands-on engineering with strategic design exposure, giving you the opportunity to influence architectures while still building and implementing solutions. You'll work closely with architects and senior stakeholders, gaining the experience and mentorship to progress toward architectural leadership.
As part of this role, the successful candidate will apply engineering best practices to help clients successfully implement cyber security technologies, systems, and methodologies that proactively prevent and mitigate cyber-attacks.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and implement security solutions across cloud (M365, Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid environments, configuring and applying security controls.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, ensuring design aligns with security best practices.
- Utilise Microsoft Security stack (Defender, Sentinel, Purview, Entra ID) to design, implement, and optimise security measures, including SIEM integration and automation.
- Support vulnerability management and embed security controls within CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and compliance.
- Assist with security assessments, aligning solutions with frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and ISO, and develop clear documentation and implementation guides.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate security concepts and deliver comprehensive solutions using tools like Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, Splunk, or Tenable.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar.
- Expertise in configuring and applying security controls across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender for Office 365, Entra ID, Purview).
- Familiar with SIEM (Microsoft Sentinel, SPLUNK), vulnerability management, incident response, and security standards like NIST, CIS, and ISO.
- Skilled in building relationships with senior stakeholders and integrating into cross-functional teams while working independently.
- Clear, concise communicator, able to present findings effectively.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., cloud security) are advantageous.
