Job description

A rapidly growing financial technology business is undertaking a complete modernisation of its digital ecosystem and is looking for an experienced .NET engineer to play a key role in that journey. You'll help design and deliver high-performing software that underpins critical financial services, shaping both the technical direction and engineering culture.

This position offers a mix of greenfield product development and modernisation of core systems, with the freedom to influence architecture, development practices and technical standards.

What you'll do

  • Develop and enhance enterprise-level software using C# and .NET Core
  • Design microservices and APIs that support scalable, cloud-first platforms
  • Work collaboratively with product, DevOps and QA to deliver production-ready features
  • Apply modern design patterns, testing frameworks and CI/CD principles
  • Participate in architectural discussions and mentor team members
  • Contribute to the organisation's wider technology roadmap and delivery improvements

Requirements

  • Strong background in backend engineering using .NET Core and C#
  • Proven experience building robust systems in financial or other regulated environments
  • Solid grasp of cloud technologies (preferably Azure) and containerised deployments
  • Strong database design knowledge, ideally with SQL and exposure to NoSQL options
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps tooling
  • Excellent communicator who can engage confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Benefits & conditions

  • £65,000-£70,000 depending on experience
  • Hybrid working pattern based from Lisburn
  • Direct impact on a long-term digital transformation programme
  • Genuine progression and leadership potential
