Job description

We operate an IT Helpdesk for our clients - with telephone and remote support, as well as on-site visits as and when required.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, Alongside the support function we also provide strategic advice and implement new IT Projects such as server installations, WiFi installations, server virtualisation, network upgrades, mobile computing, IP telephony, Office 365, Sharepoint and other cloud solutions.

So if you are currently working in an Service Desk environment, have a 'Can-Do' attitude, are looking for a new challenge and the right opportunity to expand your existing technical skills - we want to hear all about you!

You will already have at least 3 years' IT Helpdesk experience under your belt, bags of enthusiasm, a huge passion for IT and a hunger to learn. Ideally you will have previously worked in a similar role - perhaps at another MSP. You will need to be keen to develop your skills so you can shine in our professional, yet fun environment.

The role - be part of something that matters

This is a varied role so there is never a dull moment, work is varied, and you will continue to build on your previous experience.

You will be involved in all aspects of the support work we carry out - including the day to day support of clients, as well as the planning, and implementation of projects.

Day to day support includes the delivery of PC and Server support to clients via telephone and remote-control technology, monitoring of client systems and backups and carrying out small to medium site-based projects such as PC rollouts, wifi and router/internet connection installations.

You will be required to visit customer sites either on your own or with a colleague, so will need to be presentable, have a confident demeanour and a full clean driving licence.

Qualifications you will need

5 GCSE's at grades A*-C, (4-6 under the new system) including English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications).

An IT Qualification.

Essential Skills you will need

  • Microsoft Software and Windows Operating Systems (PC's and Servers) and troubleshooting of these technologies
  • PC hardware
  • Active Directory (user administration, groups, etc)
  • Backup software experience
  • Perform routine system checks on client systems and resolve any potential issues
  • Able to take responsibility for the monitoring of helpdesk tickets and allocate to staff if required
  • Provide responses to fault calls logged on the helpdesk in accordance with our SLA
  • Office 365
  • Have a genuine willingness to help others, and the initiative to solve problems competently within a business environment
  • To pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role (eg, MCSA's)
  • To display a positive attitude and to demonstrate flexibility in day to day work
  • Able to prioritise support work and other tasks
  • Able to deliver consistently and to a high level of accuracy
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to meet set deadlines
  • The ability to write and ensure technical documentation is kept up-to-date

Working hours are generally 8.30-5 Monday to Thursday and finishing at 4pm on a Friday, however for the right person we would consider alternative hours to accommodate family or travel commitments.
