Job description

A specialist managed service provider supporting a portfolio of high-quality SMEs along the M4 corridor is looking for an IT Support Engineer to join their growing team. This is a genuinely varied role where no two days look the same - ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working directly with clients, and getting exposure to a broad range of technologies.

You'll be supporting a mix of on-site and remote environments, delivering hands-on technical support and helping implement solutions that keep clients running smoothly.

The Role

You'll work across a diverse set of customer environments, providing both remote and on-site support. Expect a mix of troubleshooting, project assistance, and day-to-day operational support.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver 1st/2nd-line support to clients

  • Resolve a wide range of technical issues across desktops, servers, networks, and cloud services, even CCTV

  • Support and administer Office 365, Azure AD/Active Directory, and core Microsoft technologies

  • Assist with deployments, migrations, and small project work

  • Maintain documentation and follow MSP best practices

  • Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted technical contact

  • Escalate complex issues when required while maintaining ownership of the customer experience

Requirements

You'll thrive in this role if you enjoy variety, autonomy, and working in environments where you can make a visible impact.

Essential experience

  • 2 - 5 years' experience in an IT support role (MSP experience beneficial but not essential)

  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 administration

  • Good understanding of Active Directory (on-prem and/or Azure AD)

  • Experience supporting Windows desktops, laptops, and common business applications

  • Basic networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, routers, switches)

  • Ability to prioritise, communicate clearly, and manage multiple tickets

  • Full UK driving licence (role includes occasional on-site visits)

Nice to have

  • Exposure to backup solutions, firewalls, or virtualisation

  • Experience with RMM/PSA tools

  • Interest in progressing toward 3rd-line or project engineering

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive salary and benefits
