Job description

We are looking for a talented and motivated Database Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical, dual role in maintaining our entire IT ecosystem. You won't just be managing databases; you'll be the backbone ensuring a secure, stable, and highly available environment for both our internal systems and remote customer platforms., * Database Expertise: Build, maintain, and performance-tune Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) databases operating 24/7.

  • High Availability: Implement and manage robust Availability Groups and Replication solutions to guarantee continuous operation.
  • Networking: Configure and maintain essential infrastructure, including firewall, networking, and VPN solutions.
  • Virtualisation: Manage our virtual environment using vCenter and vSphere technologies.
  • Resilience: Monitor and manage all backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Customer Engagement: Serve as a clear communicator for occasional customer-facing interactions, including foreign travel to client sites.

Requirements

You are a pragmatic, organised, and broad-skilled professional eager to learn and ready to work both autonomously and collaboratively.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong, proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server, especially in implementing Availability Groups and Replication.
  • Expertise in database design and performance tuning.
  • Hands-on experience with firewall, networking, and VPN configuration.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation platforms, specifically vCenter and vSphere.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Neo4J Graph Database and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Ubuntu operating systems.
  • Familiarity with IoT protocols (MQTT, LoRaWAN) and related hardware.
