Technical Program Manager, Commercial Operations

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Business Planning and Pricing (BPP) team drives Strategic Initiatives, Competitive Insights, and Strategic Packaging and Pricing for all of Google Cloud, including GCP and Google Workplace. The Commercial Operations team ensures that we define, run and help automate pricing processes so that all of BPP and Google Cloud can execute accurately at scale. We do this by looking left to right across the entirety of the cloud business to build and streamline systems and processes that make the business work. We are accountable for data-driven decisions and execution against operations fidelity, measured by robust visibility and usage within the internal cloud ecosystem

• Be accountable for documentation, providing business and process context for system requirements and process automation, audit and execution across the full landscape of cloud operations.
• Create business requirement documents for system design and partnering with engineering teams for development of internal systems. Serve as a key voice to drive continuous improvements for initial auditing and validation methodologies.
• Maintain evergreen documentation to ensure our cross-functional stakeholders are always up to date on current status and best practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in Technical Program Management.
• Experience with Query Optimization, Operational Efficiency, Automation, Process Improvement and Analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA or Master's degree.
• Experience with process improvement and automation.
• Experience with query methodologies to mine the best insight from given data.
• Ability to create and run technical process operations from scratch with passion for improving process for business success.
