Job description
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a variety of projects, from designing new digital tools to maintaining and improving existing services in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. What You'll Do
- Design and build high-quality, robust, and secure software products and solutions.
- Work across both server-side and client-side technologies, utilising low-code/no-code platforms when needed.
- Maintain and improve existing systems, fixing bugs and resolving live support issues quickly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering colleagues to deliver end-user-focused outcomes.
- Work within waterfall or agile frameworks depending on project requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with solid understanding of both back-end and front-end development.
- Strong knowledge of server-side technologies (e.g. ColdFusion, PHP, Java).
- Confident with client-side technologies (HTML/CSS) and version control systems (Git, Subversion).
- Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or Microsoft SQL.
- Excellent communication skills - able to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, jQuery).
- Knowledge of Laravel, ColdBox, or other server-side frameworks.
- Linux experience (RedHat, CentOS, Debian).
- Familiarity with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Tailwind, Foundation).
- Understanding of UX, accessibility, and responsive design.
- Experience integrating APIs, RESTful JSON, and web services.
- Background in B2B or SaaS environments.
