Job description

As a Systems Engineer, you will act as a key point of contact for clients, troubleshooting technical issues, configuring systems, and ensuring smooth operation across deployments. This role involves regular communication with clients, mapping requirements to platform capabilities, and proactive monitoring of systems. Over time, you will develop in-depth knowledge of electronic trading environments and the tools used by some of the world's leading financial institutions.

What you will be doing

  • Configuring applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Working with Unix to configure low-latency servers to run P2D Analytics.
  • Troubleshooting issues with application installations.
  • Solving network problems using tools like P2D Analytics.
  • Performing health checks and proactively monitoring installations.

We're looking for someone who has technical proficiency in

Requirements

  • Electronic trading systems (Market Data and Order Entry).
  • Experience using tcpdump and/or Wireshark.
  • Understanding Ethernet, IP, TCP, and UDP.
  • Experience with Protocol Decoders.
  • Manipulating Unix filesystems (creating directories, editing files, etc).
  • Checking the health of a system using tools like top, free, ps, etc.
  • System tuning using kernel boot parameters and tools such as ethtool and sysctl.
  • Experience in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Ability to read log files and act accordingly.
  • Editing XML, JSON, and ENV files.
  • Understanding of REST APIs and web-based systems.
