As Master Data and Systems Finance Manager, you will be at the heart of ensuring that financial master data is governed with precision while championing the effective operation of finance systems.

Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements for system enhancements or new implementations. You will be instrumental in developing rigorous controls for data quality while proactively identifying ways to automate processes for greater efficiency. By leading a skilled team dedicated to supporting finance technologies, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives that benefit both compliance efforts and operational outcomes.

Specific duties include:

  • Oversee the governance, accuracy, and ongoing maintenance of all financial master data to ensure consistency and compliance with internal standards.
  • Develop and enforce robust data standards, controls, and validation processes that underpin high-quality financial information across the organisation.
  • Manage the operation, enhancement, and optimisation of finance-related systems by working closely with IT partners to deliver seamless upgrades and integrations.
  • Act as a vital liaison between Finance, IT, Procurement, HR, and other business units to align system functionality with evolving business needs.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders across departments, manage change requests efficiently, and communicate system changes or new data governance policies clearly.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes through innovative system automation initiatives and enhanced data management techniques.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing data accuracy and operational efficiency throughout the finance function.
  • Ensure all data management activities and finance systems remain compliant with internal policies as well as external regulatory requirements.
  • Support both internal and external audits by providing accurate system data and comprehensive documentation in a timely manner.

To excel as Master Data and Systems Finance Manager you will bring proven expertise from previous roles overseeing master data or leading finance transformation initiatives. Your background should include deep familiarity with financial processes-especially those related to controls and compliance-alongside hands-on experience managing teams within shared service centres or similar environments.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a finance management role with responsibility for master data oversight or finance transformation projects within large organisations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial processes including controls, reporting frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements relevant to shared service environments.
  • Proven track record managing teams effectively while working collaboratively across functions such as IT, Procurement, HR, or similar business units.
  • Experience leading successful process improvement initiatives focused on automation or enhanced data management within finance operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of master data structures such as chart of accounts or hierarchy management within enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Hands-on experience administering one or more ERP platforms alongside proficiency in Excel or other advanced data analysis tools used for financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard data governance tools or frameworks designed to maintain high levels of information integrity.
