Job description
Elevations Design & Projects division are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join market leading engineering team in the Huddersfield area. You'll be responsible for the design, development, and validation specialist products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry codes, and regulatory standards. This role offers the opportunity to shape innovative solutions for global energy, process, and industrial applications, working within a collaborative and technically focused environment., * Interpret technical specifications and develop designs that meet performance, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations and component sizing.
- Select appropriate materials for service conditions, ensuring suitability to industry technical requirements.
- Create 3D models, detailed part drawings, and Bills of Materials using Solid Edge or equivalent CAD tools.
- Check and approve the work of other engineers and provide mentorship to junior team members.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, test, and quality teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
- Support assembly, testing, and validation of prototype and production
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, reports, and technical files.
- Contribute to new product development and continuous improvement projects.
- Provide engineering support to Sales and Tendering for technical proposals.
- Ensure adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and promote a culture of continuous safety improvement.
Requirements
You're a hands-on design engineer with strong technical judgement and a background in mechanical engineering . You're comfortable taking ownership of designs from concept through to production and enjoy working cross-functionally to solve complex engineering challenges., * Degree or HND in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years' + experience in engineering design
- Proficient in Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or similar 3D design software.
- Strong understanding of engineering materials, stress analysis, and pressure design principles.
- Experience with manufacturing support, assembly, and test activities.
- SAP or ERP experience advantageous but not essential.
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) desirable.
