At Perch Group, our vision is clear: to lead the UK debt purchase and collection industry by harnessing cutting-edge technology to drive ethical, efficient, and data-driven debt resolution.

Our annual mission is to empower hundreds of thousands of customers to positively engage with and resolve their outstanding debts. We do this through an empathetic and customer-centric approach that is at the heart of our success.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a proactive and experienced individual to join our growing Analytics function. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging external data effectively in collections strategies across our group companies. This is a wide role with large scope for impact: we are a data driven business and take data from a wide range of suppliers.

You will be equally comfortable designing and building data pipelines as you are assessing ROI of multiple suppliers and optimising commercial models. You will ensure that the business has control and oversight of the data we ingest and use as well as proactively identifying opportunities and working cross-functionally to enhance how we use the data.

So, what will your day-to-day look like?

You will work as part of the Analytics team, reporting into the Head of Analytics and supporting across several areas including but not limited to:

  • Analysis and Insight: Lead your own and the team's analysis into the effectiveness of current external data. Identify and effectively communicate the opportunities to improve.
  • Data Engineering: Collaborate with our Data and MI Teams to automate and scale mature processes, as well as quickly build new pipelines for trials
  • Collections Strategy: Propose customer-centric and cost-effective strategies, using a combination of experience and deep data insight. Work cross-functionally to refine, gain buy-in and deploy these strategies.
  • Scoring and segmentation: Build customer segmentation, leveraging and influencing the output of our Decision Science team. Comfortable optimising for commercial and customer outcomes and building testing frameworks.
  • MI and Reporting: Use SQL and Power BI to build your own reports, guiding strategic decision making. Comfortable working with stakeholder to refine requirements and independently to leverage our own insight.
  • Team Development: Play an active part in your and team-member development by sharing experience and cross skilling across technologies, processes and business areas.
  • Change Management: Support the Head of Analytics in prioritising and planning for large change work, building relationships with technical and delivery teams.
  • Governance: Preparing and delivering input into monthly governance meetings around strategy performance, sharing the impact of your work up to Exec level.
  • Client Facing: Support the Head of Analytics in communicating our Analytics proposition and strategy performance to new and existing clients

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role within the debt purchase, recovery, or financial services industry.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills (SQL + visualising tool e.g. PowerBI, Looker etc.) with the ability to drive insight from complex and disparate datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear recommendations and influence action at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in your work and helping junior colleagues do the same.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues swiftly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including operations, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Good understanding of operational processes in a Financial Services or similar environment e.g. automated dialling, capacity planning, complaints handling etc.
  • Experience with working in the debt purchase and recovery sector, specifically with building and enhancing collections strategy processes through quantitative insight (desirable).
