Job description
We're supporting a major UK-wide transformation programme modernising access control and digital infrastructure across government estates - introducing new cloud-based, secure, and scalable systems that enable interoperability across departments., * Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet strategic and operational objectives.
- Evaluate and optimise cloud infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant government and cloud security standards.
- Lead technical architecture for complex migrations and integrations.
- Produce and maintain architectural documentation and technical roadmaps.
- Stay ahead of emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Strong grasp of architecture principles, automation tools, containerisation, and DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with Python, Java, or scripting languages.
- Deep understanding of security and compliance frameworks in complex environments.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience in Access Control Systems or identity/security domains.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar.
Certifications
- Cloud certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
