Job description
We are seeking a Technical Design and Support Engineer, to act as a representative of the company towards customers and distributors via phone, email, web chat and video calls, upholding the company's values and delivering the high-quality service that our customers value. The right candidate will have in-depth IT and networking experience with some knowledge of audio systems and basic electronics. They will utilise their mix of skills and liaise with other internal teams to support technical troubleshooting queries, advise on suitable technologies and system specifications, and design bespoke layouts., * Strong customer communication via email, phone and web chat

Assessing new project enquiries, responding to customers and booking project details on to CRM system

Identifying the correct system types to meet the project requirements, from a range of company products and companion distributed products

Technical support and guidance, including remote troubleshooting of complex systems

Preparing equipment quotations, responding to bids in a timely manner

Site visits, surveys, customer meetings and demonstrations, including report writing to follow up

Providing technical training to customers

Design of systems, preparation of installation drawing packages

Taking ownership of more complex design requirements and more demanding customers

A focus on quality, attention to detail and accuracy within the design and CAD markup
Requirements

Good experience of network troubleshooting

Experience of audio systems and technology

Attention to detail and working to a high level of quality, following documented procedures

Personable manner with customers and able to give clear, concise explanations of technology systems

Good IT skills, experience with Microsoft Office and quick to learn new software packages

Ability to manage own time and prioritise a series of time-limited tasks each day

Working closely with the immediate team as well as other departments within the business

Travel predominantly within the UK, with potential for some overseas travel

Working on building sites, with relevant certification (ECS)

Understanding of scaled drawings and basic skills with CAD packages
Preferrable Skills:

Knowledge of networked audio and control
-
Basic electrical knowledge, ohms law, impedance etc

Experience of building industry tender process

Flexible hours may be worked by agreement, subject to the core hours of 9am to 4pm being covered. It may be necessary to work overtime during peak times and when deadlines are close
