Job description
As an AV & IT Support Engineer working across both hire and installation projects, you will:
- Respond to client enquiries via email, phone, and in person
- Provide pre-planning support and attend site visits with clients
- Assist the Hire Manager with IT & AV support for live events, conferences, and hybrid/online streaming
- Help set up and operate online and hybrid events (e.g. Teams, Zoom, webinars)
- Work with the Technical Director and installation team on projects (system commissioning, basic configuration, troubleshooting)
- Prepare, test and label equipment before it goes on hire, including basic PAT testing (training provided)
- Load/unload vans and help set up and de-rig equipment on site
- Communicate project requirements clearly to colleagues, clients, and subcontractors
- Support AV service & maintenance contracts (basic diagnosis, swap-outs, liaison with manufacturers and suppliers)
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving Licence license?, Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, This role is ideal for someone with a strong IT background who enjoys variety - one day you might be preparing and testing equipment for a live event, the next helping to commission a video conferencing system for a corporate client., * A recent IT / Computer Science / related graduate with a strong interest in audio-visual technology, or
- Someone with early-career experience in IT support who wants to move into the AV world.
- The role would equally suit an experienced hybrid events professional with a strong AV/IT background, and the salary will reflect the level of experience you bring., We're looking for someone with:
- A solid IT background
- Confident general IT skills, including:
- Microsoft 365 (especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Common video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- Some experience managing hybrid events
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and a logical, methodical approach to problems
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in fast-moving, pressured situations (especially during live events)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills - comfortable speaking with clients and colleagues alike
- Willingness to work hands-on and carry equipment as part of the job
A full UK driving licence is essentialdue to the need to visit client sites and transport equipment.
Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Knowledge or interest in AV products - e.g. video conferencing systems, sound systems, displays, projectors
- Any experience with:
- Running or supporting hybrid/online events
- AV installations (cabling, mounting screens, connecting equipment)
- Working in the AV hire, events, or live production industry
- Basic understanding of networking (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, VLANs, etc.)

Working Hours and Flexibility
- Standard full-time hours, based in South Wales
- Some early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends to support events and installations
- Travel required across South Wales and occasionally further afield
