Job description

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer is required to support a large-scale cloud transformation, focused on migrating legacy on-premise environments into Microsoft Azure and modernising Microsoft 365 services. The role involves maintaining hybrid infrastructure, enhancing automation and security, and contributing to a range of modern workplace and infrastructure projects., * Lead or support migration projects from on-premise servers to Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, networking, and identity integrations.

  • Deliver M365 migration and optimisation work covering Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Intune.
  • Manage and improve hybrid environments spanning Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
  • Implement and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure solutions across Azure and on-prem data centres.
  • Automate deployments, configuration, and patching using PowerShell, Terraform, or ARM templates.
  • Monitor performance, ensure compliance, and strengthen security through best-practice controls and governance.
  • Collaborate with project, network, and security teams to support the ongoing cloud adoption roadmap.
  • Maintain documentation and provide technical guidance to internal teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or cloud operations.
  • Hands-on experience with on-prem to Azure migration projects and hybrid AD environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
  • Familiarity with networking, security, and identity management within Azure and on-prem contexts.
  • Experience with VMware or Hyper-V virtualisation and backup/disaster recovery tools.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD automation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
