As a team: At Accenture we design new services that make a lasting impact by improving users' lives, making our country safer and enabling business to evolve. We are expanding the Experience Design team to deliver new digital products and experiences for users of both public and private sector clients. The Accenture Experience Design practice comprises 5 design disciplines, being User Research, Service Design, Interaction Design, Design Systems and Design Thinking.
In this newly created multi-disciplinary role, we are seeking a Senior Experience designer to join our Experience Design practice supporting both existing and new client engagements, who is a user centred designer to perform user research, transform the business process into user journeys through service design, and an experienced interaction designer who understands design systems, while designing new services that demonstrate how user needs and business requirements are met.
As a Experience Designer:
You are strong in Service and Interaction design, with experience with performing User Research. You will deliver service blueprints, user journeys, flows, lo-fi & hi-fi prototypes, interface design, component designs, design specifications, presentations and design pitches. For this role you are:
- An intellectually curious, creative problem solver focused on design methodology and passionate about inclusive, accessible services for a diverse user population.
- Developing a deep understanding of user needs and be a champion of the benefits of being user centred, inclusive design and accessibility.
- Performing discoveries and are comfortable with planning, scoping, conducting, analysing and communicating findings that ground design decisions against user needs.
- You enjoy collaborative work in a dynamic and creative environment. You are comfortable working with the different technical experts being part of a multidisciplinary team, guiding software engineers as they build your designs.
- A strong desire to co-create with users and relish participation of stakeholders and the wider team and have experience leading workshops and broader inclusive design initiatives.
- You are great with stakeholders and are an engaging communicator, able to speak fluently to business people, designers, engineers and other stakeholders.
- You are comfortable working in all fidelity of design, from initial concepts to final design specifications, from the initial discovery phase through to working with developers to produce the final solution.
- You are UX savvy, able to craft and translate user needs into journeys and show evidence how the solutions meet the required needs with measurable value. You are comfortable working with the team reshaping user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
- Your design process takes a holistic approach, identifying patterns and workflows by considering the larger system.
- You understand graphic design and are versed in typography, application of colour theory, consistent use of branding and information hierarchy.
- You are also technology savvy and have a good understanding of how digital services are designed, developed and operated.
- You understand agile and lean practice. You are keen to be part of the team in analysis and synthesis to increase consensus and challenge assumptions.
- You'll collaborate with UX researchers while also conducting your own research and evaluations to test and improve designs.
Experience:
- Experience with the design and development lifecycle, from the initial discovery phase through to working with developers to produce the final solution.
- You have Service Design/ UX experience including user journeys, flows, lo-fi & hi-fi designs and prototype experiences for user testing.
- You have experience producing component-based UI or contributed to a design system and can talk to brand values and how best to serve the needs for mobile, tablet and desktop UI, with experience designing products that meet accessibility standards.
- You have a minimum of 4 years' experience in a design role at a consumer-focused company, or government body, and a degree in Design, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- You have a portfolio that showcases your design process and thinking.
- Experience working within the GDS framework and service standards is a benefit.
