Job description
East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people's lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Council's Digital and Programme Team as a GIS Officer.
Working within the Digital and Programme Management team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to proactively lead, manage and develop our geographical information system (GIS). You will be working closely with colleagues in the Digital team and other teams across the Council to make the best use of spatial data, feeding into our digital strategy as part of our commitment to achieving the ambitions of our strategic plan.
We are looking for someone who has a high level of IT literacy within the GIS sphere and strong analytical skills, who is well organised and able to work in a focused and logical way to move us forward in our use of spatial data. You will have experience and be confident in using ESRI ArcGIS software - ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work successfully with a range of contacts.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to really make a difference to the way we work and put their stamp on GIS at East Suffolk. Excellent progress has been made over the past 3 years with our use of ESRI and this is your chance to help establish East Suffolk as one of the leaders in using geospatial data within local government.
