Job description

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure & Operations Engineer to join our results driven IT team in Aberdeen.

This is a hands-on role within a cross-functional team responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting IT infrastructure across the organisation.

You will manage a range of technologies including servers, networking, storage, telephony, and client hardware, while ensuring security compliance and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, backups, storage, and telephony

  • Ensure security compliance through patching, scanning, inventory management, and system hardening

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting across the organisation

  • Maintain accurate documentation and configuration records

  • Participate in IT projects, continuity planning, and out-of-hours support on a rotational basis

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality IT services.

Requirements

  • Degree in an IT-related subject or equivalent professional experience

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Clearly demonstrable experience in a similar IT infrastructure role.

Strong knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Entra

  • Windows Server/Desktop

  • Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance

  • Storage systems

  • Microsoft Office

  • Systems monitoring platforms

Desirable Skills

  • Microsoft Azure (IaaS/PaaS)

  • VMware or other virtualisation platforms

  • Data networking

  • Remote Desktop Services

  • InTune, Configuration Manager

  • Mitel VOIP

  • Exchange Online

  • PowerShell scripting

  • Application packaging
