Job description

  • Design and implement scalable database solutions and data models that enable efficient data storage, integration, and retrieval.
  • Review and optimise database implementation processes to ensure compliance with GDPR and wider data governance standards.
  • Develop conceptual and logical data models, diagrams, and flowcharts to support solution design.
  • Ensure all systems are aligned with established data architecture principles and best practices.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the data platform landscape, ensuring risks are identified, documented, and managed.
  • Deliver high-quality, consistent, and well-documented outputs across all phases of delivery.
  • Define and guide the technical direction of the data platform in collaboration with engineering and delivery teams.
  • Oversee the delivery of data solutions and models throughout the project or product lifecycle.
  • Ensure stakeholders, internal teams, and external vendors remain aligned with the agreed architectural vision.

Requirements

My client is an agile, data-driven company who are continuing to expand their thriving data team. They are looking to hire a senior data architect with expert data modelling and technical experience across the full Azure data stack and Databricks., * Proven expertise in data modelling, with strong experience in normalisation (up to 3NF).

  • In-depth knowledge of database design, structures, and data mining techniques.
  • Skilled in Kimball methodology and Data Vault modelling approaches.
  • Strong understanding of database fundamentals and practical experience designing metadata-driven ingestion and transformation pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Master Data Management (MDM), data cataloguing, and data lineage tracking.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Azure data services, including Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, CosmosDB, and related technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including the design, construction, and maintenance of data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses (Databricks strongly preferred)., Please Note: This is a permanent role for UK residents only.
