Are you passionate about unlocking the power of data to drive real change? Do you want to shape how a leading university understands, plans, and delivers its future?

As Lead Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming how we collect, prepare, and provide data across the University. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely, and well-governed information to support strategic decision-making and enhance the student journey.

As Lead Data Engineer you can expect to be involved in:

  • Leading ETL and data preparation processes to ensure clean, credible, and reliable datasets.
  • Collaborating with Data Architecture and Business Intelligence colleagues to maintain and evolve the University's data infrastructure.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing, inclusive Data Engineering team.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Advanced knowledge and experience of ETL development and complex data modelling (SSIS, Alteryx, SQL, Qlik, Excel)
  • Strong expertise in database design, data preparation, and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, data sensitivity, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity.

As a member of our team, you can expect a friendly, open and collaborative working environment and support in your development and wellbeing.
