Job description

We are seeking an experienced Contract Test Development Engineer in Scotland to support a major semiconductor equipment project. You will be responsible for developing and debugging test solutions, implementing manual test processes, and providing training to manufacturing engineers in software coding and design requirements. The position is based on-site in Scotland, working 5 days per week (with flexibility in shift patterns). Some remote work may be possible depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities for Contract Test Development Engineer in Scotland:

  • Develop and support LabVIEW, TestStand, and ATE-based test solutions

  • Debug and implement manual test processes for electronic systems

  • Train and mentor manufacturing engineers on test software and design requirements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure testing aligns with project goals

  • Contribute to ongoing semiconductor equipment projects, ensuring timely delivery

Requirements

  • Strong background in LabVIEW, TestStand, and Automated Test Equipment (ATE)

  • Solid knowledge of electronics - both digital and analogue

  • Experience developing, debugging, and implementing test solutions in a manufacturing or R&D environment

  • Ability to train and guide engineers on test software and processes

  • Flexible approach to working hours (shift coverage preferred)

  • Must hold a valid EU passport
