Principal Hardware Engineer

A civilian Aerospace business who have an opportunity for a Hardware Engineering Lead - a key leadership role responsible for guiding the design, development, and validation of our hardware subsystems from concept through production. The position combines both hands-on technical leadership and team management, ensuring high-performance designs are delivered on time and within budget.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Leading hardware subsystem and system-level projects from definition to delivery
• responsibility for overseeing a talented hardware engineering team
• Driving design reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) and ensuring design maturity
• Overseeing validation, compliance, and manufacturing readiness
• Collaborating cross-functionally with firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams

• 8+ years in hardware design and development, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role
• Strong background in analog, digital, RF, power, or mixed-signal circuit design
• Experience with EMC/EMI, DFT, DFM is beneficial
• Proven success leading design reviews and delivering validated subsystems
• Excellent communication and leadership skills

The position will suit an engineer who has come from a hands on Hardware background and then had management/leadership responsibilities. The position is hybrid working between the Henley on Thames based innovation center and working from home.
