Job description
We are seeking an experienced 3rd line IT Engineer with strong expertise in cloud technologies and networking to join our Beaufort Division IT team. You will act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and support for both on-premises and cloud-based systems. Your role will involve working closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the stability, security, and performance of our it infrastructure for the UK and global regions
What You Can Expect from the Role

Point of reference (3rd line) for technical support for hardware, software, network, and cloud-related incidents and service requests.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues escalated from 1st and 2nd line support teams, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.

Administer, monitor, and maintain cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft azure, M365 suite, Intune), including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security configurations.

Administer, monitor and maintain the groups networking and connectivity both internally and externally.

Lead root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact incidents, implementing long-term solutions and documenting findings.

Collaborate with Suppliers and global teams to design, implement, and optimize Infrastructure solutions.

Maintain and update technical documentation, knowledge bases, and standard operating procedures.

Ensure compliance with security policies, data protection regulations, and best practices.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior support staff.
Requirements

Proven experience in a 3rd line IT support or similar senior technical support role.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (MS azure, M365 suite and Intune), including deployment, management, and troubleshooting.

Demonstrate the ability run technical projects over weeks up to a few months

Expertise in windows & Linux server administration.

Solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, FIREWALLS) and exposure to the cisco product suite.

Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V ) exposure to VM-WARE is a plus.

Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell).

Familiarity with ERP systems and administration (Exposure to IFS is a plus).

Familiarity with Manufacturing and Warehouse systems and hardware.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft azure administrator, Cisco certifications ETC...) Are highly desirable.

Strong team player and ability to grow relationships with global partners.

Exposure to DEVOPS tools and practices.

Familiarity within a global manufacturing setting is a plus.

Exposure to MoD / defence standards is a plus.
