- Create high-engagement content to promote Josh's work and campaigns across Makerfield, as well as nationally
- Accompany Josh to visits to capture high-quality content
- Work with some of the best digital strategy organisations in the country
- Manage website and social channels - FB, X, Youtube, Tiktok, Instagram
- Monitor social media and comments across multiple platforms
- Analyse social media engagement and produce regular reports
- Assist with digital organising, connecting Josh to new people via digital platforms and helping with WA and FB groups
- Assist with monthly newsletter and with paid social
Requirements
We are looking to hire an energetic, fun, confident content creator and digital officer to join the office of Josh Simons MP.
This is an opportunity to work with an exciting MP on their local and national digital communications, to try out creative things and experiment to push what digital can do.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content and managing Josh's digital and social media, as well as being an all rounder who can support the work of the MPs office, from visits to written outputs and local delivery.
Experience working in or studying politics is NOT required. Applicants from a wide range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
This job is based in Greater Manchester, with occasional (funded) travel to London required. A full UK driver's license is highly desirable., * Ability to be a self starter and work independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong copywriting abilities for various audiences and platforms
- Proven experience in content creation
- Evidence of an interest in and proficiency at digital design and video editing
- Ability to create and execute multi-week, multi-channel communications plans
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a public-facing role
Desirable:
- Solid understanding of current political issues and parliamentary processes
- Driving licence and access to own car
