Job description
We're looking for a Network Field Service Engineer to join our on-site Managed Services team supporting our team in Preston.
You'll play a key role in maintaining network performance, resolving device incidents, and ensuring that all contractual SLAs are achieved. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, installation, and maintaining networks to keep them running smoothly.
What You'll Do
- Install and configure switches and network equipment.
- Set up Juniper Wireless Access Points and switching infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve wired network issues with support from the wider team.
- Replace faulty hardware (switches, access points, peripherals) as needed.
- Document maintenance, incidents, and changes in the Roc ITSM system.
- Participate in an on-call rota for high-priority (P1/P2) incidents.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and provide regular updates to customers.
- Deliver an exceptional on-site customer experience at all times.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Network security?, Essential
- Knowledge of Juniper switching and wireless technologies.
- Understanding of LAN cabling best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Customer-facing experience within an IT support role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Juniper certification or hands-on experience.
- Network security understanding.
- Experience with network cabling installation and surveys.
