Job description

Team RH Fitness is seeking a skilled and proactive IT Engineer to join our team in Gateshead and provide essential, high-quality IT services and support to our internal staff.

This role is crucial for ensuring our team has the reliable technology and support they need to deliver world-class fitness and nutrition services to our members.

You will be the first point of contact for IT support, managing our end-user environments and maintaining our core cloud platforms. If you have a passion for technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you., As our IT Engineer, your focus will be on delivering seamless and secure IT services to our internal users:

IT Service & Support:

  • Handle day-to-day IT operations, providing exceptional first to second-line technical support for end-users across diverse hardware and operating systems (primarily Windows 11 and macOS environments).
  • Troubleshoot hardware (laptops, desktops, mobiles) and software issues, escalating complex problems to external partners or senior staff when necessary.

User & Device Management:

  • Manage the complete user lifecycle process-onboarding new starters, processing movers, and securely processing leavers (managing accounts, device allocation, and access rights).
  • Provision, configure, and deploy laptops, MacBooks, and mobile devices for all staff using Microsoft Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
  • Monitor and manage system updates, patches, and security compliance across all company user devices to maintain a secure environment.

System Administration:

  • Administer and maintain core SaaS platforms, including Microsoft 365 and GSuite/Google Workspace, managing user accounts, licensing, security groups, and access controls.
  • Provide support and maintain Microsoft Teams administration, including user setup, permissions, and troubleshooting call quality or meeting issues.

Networking & Infrastructure:

  • Ensure network stability and optimal performance; assist with the configuration and troubleshooting of core network devices (Wi-Fi access points, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP).

Documentation & Projects:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT processes, procedures, asset inventory, and configuration details.
  • Support and actively contribute to IT projects such as new software rollouts, system integrations, and security enhancements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes, policies, and the overall security posture of the business.

Requirements

Do you have experience in macOS?, * Proven experience of 3 - 5 years working in an IT Support, Desktop Support, or IT Engineer role, focused on internal staff support.

Platform Expertise:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, Azure AD, and Intune MDM).
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Teams configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with GSuite / Google Workspace administration.

Operating Systems & Devices:

  • Strong proficiency in supporting and troubleshooting Windows 11 and macOS operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with device deployment, configuration, and management using Intune MDM solutions.

Technical Foundations:

  • Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and Wi-Fi).
  • A working understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, coupled with a strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service to internal staff.
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload effectively, and prioritise multiple concurrent tasks.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Relevant IT certifications are a plus (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, etc.).
