Job description

As they look to the future with their newly created Technology and Innovation department, the council are looking for an Application and Development Support Officer to work directly with a senior developer to improve digital services. The role will primarily focus on core software development based on HTML, C#, JavaScript, .Net and Azure technologies. You will also gain exposure in cutting edge products such as Dynamics 365 and AI services., * Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors complex programs/scripts and integration software services.

  • Provides advice, guidance, and support to help people to adopt and embed best-practice approaches to information and knowledge management into all areas of their work.
  • Maintains application support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures.
  • Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services and ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system.
  • Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
  • Provides support for the establishment and nurturing of communities of practice, including workshops, one-on-one guidance, training and troubleshooting. Develops and implements processes and behaviours which help people easily access and use data, learning, and knowledge to improve performance.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, This role would suit someone with a computer science degree or apprenticeship or 1-2 years industry experience., * Eager to learn and improve existing skills in software development e.g HTML, C#, JavaScript, .Net.

  • Previous experience within applications development. This could be from apprenticeship or industry placements
  • Looking to work towards relevant accreditations and qualifications e.g MS Learner Paths
