Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Design Engineer with expertise in Fire Protection and Sprinkler Systems to join a leading Building Services Consultancy in London. This is a 6-month contract position (Outside IR35), working on a range of commercial projects, including high-end office developments and mixed-use schemes., * Design & Specification: Develop Public Health (PH) engineering designs, including domestic water, drainage, rainwater, and fire protection systems.

  • Fire & Sprinkler Systems: Design and coordinate fire suppression, sprinkler systems, and water mist solutions in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Project Delivery: Lead PH designs from concept to completion, ensuring compliance with UK building codes and best practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Architects, and Contractors.
  • Technical Reports: Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and specifications to support planning and construction phases.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years in Public Health Engineering within a building services consultancy.
  • Fire Protection Expertise: Strong knowledge of fire suppression systems, sprinkler protection, and misting systems.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and hydraulic calculation software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with BS EN 12845, NFPA, and LPCB standards for fire protection.
  • Qualifications: Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Public Health Engineering, or related field.
  • IR35 Status: Able to operate Outside IR35 as a contractor.
  • Availability: Ready for an immediate start or short notice period.
