This role provides the opportunity to design and maintain mission-critical, high-performance systems that underpin authentication, authorization, and secure secret management across a large-scale, multi-cloud platform. You will work closely with a collaborative engineering team to solve complex distributed computing challenges, ensuring reliability, low latency, and security at every layer. The position offers full ownership of key services, from design and implementation to production support, in a fast-moving environment. You will have the chance to refine and optimise systems for cost-efficiency and performance while contributing to cutting-edge security and platform solutions. You will be empowered to influence architecture, implement best practices, and mentor others in engineering excellence. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and optimise Go microservices that manage authentication, authorization, and RBAC
- Build and maintain secure services for signing messages and managing access to secrets
- Operate and improve services in a multi-cloud Kubernetes environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Ensure high availability, low latency, and strict SLO compliance across critical systems
- Implement end-to-end project ownership, from design and coding to production support
- Collaborate closely with other engineers to solve complex problems, share knowledge, and innovate solutions
- Continuously refine systems for cost efficiency and operational performance
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and building distributed, high-performance systems
- Strong proficiency in Go, with the ability to select the right tool for the job
- Solid understanding of cloud, containerisation, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation tools
- Experience in developing, deploying, and supporting software end-to-end in production
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices and clean code principles
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating in cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex, mission-critical challenges
Desirable
- Knowledge of cloud-native security practices and identity systems
- Experience with Kubernetes operators and orchestration patterns
- Familiarity with secret management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
