Senior Backend Engineer (Java) - Berlin based

As our Senior Backend Engineer, you'll help shape the foundations of Humanoo - our health and wellbeing platform. Behind the scenes, you'll build the scalable microservices that make personalised, behaviour-driven recommendations possible for thousands of users every day.

You'll be part of a cross-functional squad, working closely with product owners, QA engineers and software engineers to design, develop, and run features end to end. From writing code and testing to deploying and monitoring, you'll have ownership at every stage. And through our backend guilds, you'll contribute to the architectural decisions that shape the whole Humanoo product.

This is backend engineering where impact is clear: your work directly powers the daily journeys of people striving to feel healthier and more balanced. Hybrid: 2 days per week in-office

HOW YOU WILL SPEND YOUR TIME:

• Work in a cross-functional squad on the backend microservices that power both our health and wellbeing companion app or our HealthOS platform
• Build scalable systems that deliver personalised experiences to users and reliable services to partners
• Take full ownership of features - from coding and testing through to deployment and operations
• Contribute to architectural decisions through our backend guilds and shared standards
• Collaborate closely with product owners to shape solutions and suggest technical improvements that strengthen the platform

• Hands-on experience in software development
• You have solid experience with Java and Spring Boot (mandatory). Bonus: experienced with Maven and Hibernate
• Experience with microservices
• Savvy with Git and AWS
• Very good object oriented design skills
• Well-versed with Docker
• Comfortable working with Agile methodology and multiple deployments per day
• Knowledge of event-driven systems or Kubernetes is a plus
