Requirements

You will join a highly technical and customer focused support team, supporting a diverse and evolving range of technologies. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to work with an award-winning team, learn new skills and further their career.

Our team provide a high level of IT support to nearly 3000 council staff using a wide range of IT systems and technologies. You will therefore need to have excellent IT, communication & problem-solving skills to be able to deal with staff across all levels of the organisation via the phone, using various collaboration systems, and in person.

You will need to be flexible and adaptable and will be required to work across three shift rotations between 8am and 6pm. There is also a requirement to work up to four weekends within the year supporting our IT Maintenance Programme.

We are looking for a candidate that:

  • Has 2+ years of experience in a similar technical IT role.
  • Can deputise for the IT Service Desk Team Leader when required.
  • Has good working knowledge of all aspects of Windows Servers and Windows Desktop 10/11 devices, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune and VMware.
  • Is able to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Has experience working within strict SLAs and is able to manage a high volume of incidents & service requests as well as contributing with problem and root cause diagnostics & resolution.
  • Can demonstrate meeting targets & deadlines and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Possesses excellent organisational skills and is able to multi-task and work as part of a team.
  • Has substantial experience of dealing with customers, subject specialists, and service providers.
  • Has worked in a large diverse organisation with a range of different IT skills.

Training and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in IT.
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • A recent Microsoft qualification (Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, etc.).

Preferred Experience:

  • Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Windows Servers and Windows Desktop 10/11 devices, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune and VMware.
  • Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, AOVPN, AVD, Defender for Endpoint, Office 365.
  • Desktop/Laptop/Mobile hardware and software including Android and MacOS.
