Job description

  • Use your skills and knowledge to prototype innovative wireless solutions
  • You will be primarily developing using C/C++ on embedded platforms
  • Development of embedded software/firmware prototypes in an agile environment
  • Further development of proven prototypes to a deployment standard
  • Development of software in a real-time embedded environment using Linux. (e.g. Microblaze or RISC-V using C/C++)
  • Working with and configuring embedded Linux systems with tools such as Buildroot and Yocto
  • Working with Uboot, Kernel config and device trees
  • Building and deploying embedded Linux systems in an offline environment

Requirements

  • Proven ability programming Embedded Systems using C/C++
  • Proven ability of bare-metal and embedded Linux environments
  • Proven ability of linux device drivers including DMA, Interrupts, and Device Trees
  • Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Radio

Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the product all candidates must be sole British nationals. You will be required to hold a Security Clearance to SC level.

Benefits & conditions

Portsmouth (hybrid working 3 days onsite per week, 2 days from home) - 6 month duration - Pay rate £37.38 p/h PAYE (£42.81 p/h including holiday pay) or £50 p/h Umbrella

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to work for our defence client based in Portsmouth. This role is required due to increased demand for the work of our clients Advanced Developments Group (ADG). The ADG are a small team of highly innovative, enthusiastic engineers providing cutting edge technology solutions to key customers.
