Job description
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Computing Engineer with strong expertise in R programming to join our remote UK-based team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based solutions, data pipelines, and analytical models. This role requires a blend of cloud engineering, data management, and R-based development skills., * Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based architectures and services.
- Develop analytical models, scripts, and automation workflows using R.
- Implement and manage cloud resources (compute, storage, networking, security).
- Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-native applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineering teams to support cloud-based analytics.
- Ensure cloud environments follow best practices for security, performance, and cost optimization.
- Integrate cloud services with internal systems, APIs, and external tools.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development for cloud deployments.
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, optimize performance, and resolve operational issues.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, design discussions, and platform improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, * 3-12 years of professional experience in Cloud Computing, Cloud Engineering, or Cloud Architecture roles.
- Strong programming experience using R (data analysis, statistical modeling, automation).
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider:
- AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with cloud-native tools such as Lambda/Functions, Kubernetes, Docker, IAM, VPC, S3/Blob Storage, Pub/Sub, etc.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL, and cloud storage/data warehousing solutions.
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Python, SQL, or other complementary programming languages.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch).
- Experience with machine learning workflows or MLOps in the cloud.
- Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
- Experience working in agile or distributed teams.
- Must have legal right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).

Pay: £40,000.00-£90,000.00 per year
