Data Governance Specialist

The Data Governance Specialist will play a pivotal role in the oversight and enhancement of data governance frameworks. This position is critical in ensuring that customer data is managed according to best practices and compliance standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing and enforcing data governance policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with Information Technology and Data Management teams to implement an effective data governance strategy.
• Monitoring data management to safeguard against data breaches and ensure privacy.
• Conducting audits and producing regular reports that address compliance with data policies.
• Guiding departments on data-related best practices and standards.

Your Key Challenges

Challenge 1 - Implementing Data Governance across 30 countries

• Implement and enhance data governance practices for data streams coming from 30 countries.
• Support stakeholders in creating awareness, applying governance rules, and ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
• Align new data streams with existing governance frameworks and ensure consistency.

Challenge 2 - Tooling & Roadmap Execution

• Contribute to the rollout and refinement of the Data Governance & Data Quality Roadmap.
• Assess the current state of Data Quality, Data Catalog, and supporting tools.
• Provide recommendations and support implementation of tooling enhancements.

Challenge 3 - Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Build trust in data across business units for example, helping Sales adopt and rely on governed data.
• Act as a connector between business, data teams, and technology stakeholders.
• Translate complex data topics into clear, accessible language.

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Mid or Senior Data Governance professional
• Background in consultancy (Big 4 preferred) or experience in the banking sector
• Strong communicator with natural presence and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with:

• Microsoft Azure
• Office tools
