As part of the Projects & Change team, you will play a crucial role in analysing the impact of projects and changes within the Insurance Broker Accounting (IBA) department. By leveraging advanced data and analytics, you will gain a comprehensive overview of the operational landscape. - Develop and maintain databases and data systems, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Design, develop, and sustain comprehensive reports and visualisations to communicate findings effectively.
- Recognize trends and patterns in data to offer actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the design and implementation of data-driven decision-making processes within the organisation.
Operational Business Analysis and Process Excellence
- Recognise and understand the business problem and primary objectives of new projects, challenging objectives and scope where necessary.
- Analyse business needs by collaborating with partners to gather and document business requirements, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Create functional requirements, coordinate walk-throughs and sign-offs, ensuring the models accurately match business needs.
- Prepare detailed descriptions of requirements, workflows, and results to improve communication between business and technical units. Guarantee that the documentation supports the efficient adaptation of these into solution requirements.
- Identify inefficiencies in workflows or systems and propose solutions to optimise business processes, including removing waste and consistent ways of working.
- Construct clear process maps and flowcharts to depict ongoing processes and uncover possibilities for optimisation.
- Develop and apply strategies using methodologies such as Lean to promote process improvements and foster a culture of continuous enhancement.
- Plan, design and deliver the handover of business processes to the functional owner in a way that allows for continuous improvement.
- Design and support the management of User Acceptance Testing, providing input into the resolution of any fixes.
- Provide training and support to employees involved in newly optimised processes.
- Maintain detailed accounts of process refinements and the procedures involved.
- Act as a liaison between business collaborators and technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and clear understanding of project objectives.
General Tasks
- Participate in testing and validating new systems and processes to meet business requirements and contribute to ongoing optimisation efforts.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by management, contributing analytical support and insights.
- Work closely with PMs and Change team across a variety of projects where required.
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to prioritise business and information needs and suggest solutions to business challenges.
- Support wider M&A projects to ensure all the data and business needs are captured and prioritised.

- Align with the AJG Professional Standards Manual according to statutory requirements for the role, paying particular attention to, but not limited to, Whistle Blowing and Treating Customers Fairly.

Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, * Proven experience working as a Data Analyst.
- Experience in a regulated Financial Services setting is preferred.
- Experience of using data to aid decision support.
- Data integration experience is desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills to discover ways to improve data processes and boost efficiency.
- Proven ability in working with data warehouses.
- Understand business process maps, as is and to be etc
- Requirements elicitation, fit/gap analysis and preparation of functional design documents.
- Experience recognising chances to improve processes and systems.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python) and statistical methodologies.
- Ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights to non-technical collaborators.
- Expertise in Power BI report building and visualisation.
- Strong data extraction and manipulation skills (Power Query, DAX).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly.
- Demonstrated practical experience as a data analyst, with a strong grasp of business operations and analytics.
- Good understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Ability to analyse complex data and derive actionable insights.
- Confidently manage and sustain key relationship networks within a project environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding presentation of business and options analysis.
- Strong focus on accuracy and ease in managing extensive datasets.
- Experience collaborating within matrix teams spanning several offices, including external suppliers.
- Both commercial and customer minded - able to perform analysis that delivers customer and outcome-focused solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Deadline driven, setting priorities to achieve time-bound outcomes. Lead and motivate others through good people management skills, a creative problem-solver with an ambitious, can-do attitude.
- Experience participating in a Finance Transformation program is desirable.
- Experience in a regulated Financial Services setting is preferred.
