Job description
Join Ebury's internal AI startup, building next-generation Anti-Financial Crime AI agents.
You will be driving architecture and deployment of AI agents to mitigate regulatory risk and enable rapid operational transformation at Ebury and beyond. We are seeking an exceptional engineer to translate complex regulatory processes into robust, scalable and auditable agentic systems.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional AI engineer with an entrepreneurial mindset, big dreams and ability to deliver under pressure. You will thrive on high autonomy, fast iteration and working across technical, operational and compliance functions. If you are driven by opportunities which demand hard work, ownership of the technical roadmap, and you want to see your work immediately impact global financial operations - this is your platform
What you will do
- Agent Architecture & Orchestration: Design and orchestrate LLM-based agentic workflows (using tools like AWS Bedrock, LangGraph or Google ADK). You will move beyond simple linear chains to build agents capable of loops, reasoning, and self-correction.
- Data Integration & Tooling: Build secure, low-latency pipelines that allow agents to autonomously query internal APIs, retrieve documents and execute tool calls securely.
- Reliability & Governance: Implement guardrails to prevent hallucinations. You will ensure every agent decision is logged, explainable and fully auditable for regulatory purposes.
- Production Engineering: Own the full technical roadmap from prototype to production, ensuring systems are deployed using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK) and meet strict security standards
Requirements
- Core Engineering & Python: Strong background in software engineering and Python. You write clean, production-grade code and understand distributed system design.
- Agentic AI Experience: Proven hands-on experience building agents that use Tool Calling and RAG. You understand the difference between a simple LLM call and a stateful agent workflow.
- Cloud Native (AWS): proficiency in the AWS ecosystem (Lambda, S3, IAM, DynamoDB). You can deploy secure serverless architectures and manage secrets effectively.
- Production Mindset: You have moved AI/ML projects beyond notebooks into high-availability production environments
Desirable Attributes
- Domain Expertise: Experience working in Financial Crime, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), or KYC contexts.
- Risk & Control: Familiarity with Model Risk Management (MRM) or experience implementing human-in-the-loop workflows for sensitive data
Benefits & conditions
- A competitive salary, performance-based bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
- Opportunity to define the agentic architecture for Financial Crime prevention in regulated financial services.
- Work on intellectually stimulating projects, leveraging LLMs and agentic frameworks to solve problems with global significance.
- A dynamic, inclusive and high-performance work environment with rapid opportunities for technical leadership and growth.
- Direct collaboration with Financial Crime Compliance experts and senior Ebury technology leaders
