Job description
As a data engineer in the data team, you will be instrumental in transforming and managing data for critical reporting purposes. You'll extract data from complex systems, making it accessible for various stakeholders like DNB (De Nederlandse Bank) or ABN AMRO.
You'll handle management information, ensuring that reports are both accurate and timely to adhere to compliance standards. Effective communication with other teams is crucial to ensure synchronized operations and smooth transitions. We value attention to detail and a proactive mindset to continually improve our data processes., * Extract and transform data from source systems to create databases for use by data analysts in PowerBI.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, currently on AWS, with plans to transition to Azure.
- Ensure robust ETL processes that withstand changes without breaking.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure synchronized operations and communicate changes effectively.
- Handle statistical analysis of key features, client data, and financial transactions.
- Maintain the integrity and timeliness of reporting to support ABN stakeholders.
- Proactively address challenges and implement continuous improvements in data processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical IT disciplines (HBO/WO level).
- 5 years of experience in a similar data engineering role, including managing stakeholders outside your team and implementing best practices effectively.
- Ability to establish data pipelines with a focus on best practices, readability, and structured work processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to integrate social aspects into interactions.
- Proficient in AWS or Azure cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as PySpark (AWS Glue), Go, Python, SQL, and TypeScript (Amazon CDK).
- Expertise in building cloud infrastructure, designing and orchestrating ETL pipelines, creating connections between systems, and utilizing CI/CD processes (GitHub).
