Job description

This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in the transformation of the UK's leading online veterinary brand. The Website Analyst will establish the website analytics capability within the eCommerce department, providing the insight and analysis needed to deliver an exceptional customer experience and drive commercial performance.

Working under the guidance of the eCommerce Lead, you will be fully briefed on the business strategy, plans, and investment priorities. In return, you will be expected to deliver robust, data-driven insight that informs decision-making and continuously improves customer journeys, and website performance.

This role is central to interpreting online user behavior, defining key performance metrics, and identifying opportunities to enhance engagement and revenue. You will work closely with teams across eCommerce (product, multivariate testing, and operations), as well as marketing and commercial, to build a comprehensive suite of reports that assess website performance from both a strategic and operational perspective.

Your analysis will span the full website ecosystem, including integrations with order management systems, payment gateways, tracking and attribution tools as well as marketing platforms - ensuring data consistency and actionable insights across all digital touchpoints.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define, monitor, and communicate KPIs across traffic, engagement, and conversion metrics. To interpret daily website performance for business stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for business stakeholders for insights or queries
  • Investigate anomalies or changes in performance and present findings with clear, data-backed narratives.
  • Complete periodic and adhoc website analysis using tools such as Google Analytics, Content Square, PowerBi & SQL) to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Scope, plan, build & enhance a suite of website reports & dashboards to improve the business' data driven decisioning
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of analytics frameworks, ensuring accuracy and consistency & manage a rollout
  • Ensure all changes follow structured change management, test and documentation practices
  • Communicate status, risks, and timelines effectively to stakeholders
  • Really understand the relationship between traffic across channels, sessions and conversion rate. Ideally having proven impact using advance analysis previously
  • Manage and validate data capture through analytics and tag management systems (e.g. Google Tag Manager, Adobe Analytics).
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve website conversion and user journeys.
  • Partner with marketing and UX teams to support and evaluate A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Support wider business analysis, including campaign tracking and attribution.
  • Collaborate on customer journey and funnel analysis across multiple channels.
  • Lead knowledge sharing and best practice for analytics within the wider business.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Software development?, * Previous experience in website or digital analytics roles.

  • Must have a supportive and approachable nature. Competent to work unsupervised but happy to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize resources.
  • IT Literate - able to use MS Office to manipulate data, present findings and work in ticketing systems (Zendesk, JIRA).
  • Proven expertise working with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or similar (Adobe Analytics etc) datasets.
  • Confident SQL querying, table and view creation skills.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI, including MDX.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability. With strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insight.
  • Strong communication skills, able to present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • It is important you have an eye for detail and take pride in quality of solutions to ensure we deliver the best customer experience.
  • Ability to understand complex business problems and processes to determine creative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to generate and build effective relationships with team members.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies
