Job description
As SSEN Transmission delivers a multi £bn portfolio of major infrastructure projects to enable low carbon energy, strengthen the UK's electricity network, and achieve Net Zero, we've established a new Project Services function to provide the governance, insight, and expertise that underpin successful delivery.
As Head of Information Management you will ensure systems, standards, and structures are in place to manage and optimise project data. This includes document control, digital collaboration, data governance, and regulatory compliance-supporting safe, efficient delivery across all directorates, contractors, and joint ventures.
You will
- Provide strategic and operational leadership, continuously improving systems, tools, and practices while aligning with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks to ensure secure, compliant, and high-quality management of information assets across all projects.
- Lead Transmission-wide document control and data quality initiatives, supporting assurance, reporting, and audit readiness throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Own and optimise key digital platforms, ensuring they are well-governed, user-friendly, and fully integrated with project systems.
- Integrate information services into delivery and assurance frameworks, enabling timely, coordinated support across programmes.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Leadership?, * Expert knowledge of information management in regulated infrastructure environments, including data governance, document control, and compliance.
- Proven experience in large-scale capital programmes, with the ability to lead within complex, matrix organisations and across supply chains.
- Commercially and digitally astute, applying tools, automation, and analytics to enhance data quality, accessibility, and reporting.
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence across all levels, build trusted relationships, and drive cross-functional alignment.
- Resilient, collaborative, and improvement-focused, with a strong delivery mindset and commitment to high standards, innovation, and team development.
