Job description
- Interpret and prepare registration-compliant deed plans based on dispositions, historic plans and legal deeds in Scotland.
- Review and assess property boundaries, burdens and servitudes using GIS-based mapping tools to produce accurate and compliant title plans.
- Pre-check and validate Plans Report requests on behalf of clients, ensuring submissions meet The Keeper's Criteria and Registers of Scotland (RoS) requirements.
- Support and advise clients on title extents, cadastral mapping, and potential discrepancies that may affect their applications.
- Liaise with legal professionals to ensure a clear and client-friendly service experience, providing answers to technical queries and guidance on submissions.
- Ensure all plans and reports comply with the Land Registration (Scotland) Act 2012 and RoS mapping standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing insights, refining processes, and mentoring junior colleagues where appropriate., At PSS, precision, reliability, and client service are at the heart of what we do. Requirements
We're now looking for a Senior Plans Technician to join our Plans Team. This is a specialist role for an experienced professional with strong knowledge of land registration mapping, cadastral plans, and Scottish land registration practices., * Experienced in preparing and interpreting title and deed plans based on Scottish legal documents and mapping requirements.
- Working knowledge of Registers of Scotland processes, cadastral mapping, and land registration law.
- Proficient in GIS software and comfortable working with digital mapping systems and Ordnance Survey data.
- Skilled at identifying and resolving boundary, servitude, and extent issues with precision and attention to detail.
- Able to review, order, and validate Plans Reports to ensure full compliance with RoS criteria.
- Confident communicator with excellent client-facing skills - approachable, professional and solutions-focused.
- Highly organised and capable of managing multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards and client satisfaction.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a legal, surveying or land agency environment.
- Familiarity with historic deeds, Ordnance Survey mapping and coordinate systems.
- Background with Registers of Scotland or other search companies.
