Job description

We are seeking an experienced IT Administrator (m/f/d) to operate a high-security information and communication system. The role includes responsibility for a secure, stable, and fully auditable IT infrastructure. Core duties involve managing isolated network zones, administering on-premise server services, and implementing advanced security requirements., IT Security & Network Architecture

  • Operation and protection of an ICT system with strict separation of network domains ("red-black separation").
  • Design, implementation, and monitoring of security-relevant network measures, such as firewalls, VLANs, gateways, filtering mechanisms, and data-diode-based transmission paths.
  • Execution of security monitoring, log analysis, system hardening, and regular audits to ensure compliance.
  • Management of user and access control concepts, including implementation of least-privilege and zero-trust principles.

Server & System Administration

  • Operation and maintenance of local server environments (physical and virtual).
  • Administration and monitoring of central services such as:
  • NAS systems (storage, backups, snapshots, quotas)
  • Internal Git and GitLab instances
  • Authentication and directory services
  • Internal communication and collaboration systems
  • Planning and execution of updates, patches, security checks, and system optimizations.
  • Automation of recurring tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).

Operations, Documentation & Support

  • Ensuring smooth 24/7 operation of infrastructure components (including participation in an on-call rotation).
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals, and security concepts.
  • Close collaboration with security engineering, development, and management teams.
  • Providing user support in a strictly regulated IT environment.

Requirements

  • Completed degree or relevant IT training (e.g., computer science, IT security, system administration) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Several years of experience administering security-critical IT systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
  • Network segmentation and secure network architectures
  • Red-black separation concepts / domain separation
  • Linux and/or Windows server administration
  • Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM, Proxmox)
  • Storage systems (NAS/SAN)
  • Git/GitLab operation, CI/CD services, and internal DevOps workflows
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with security standards (BSI guidelines, hardening guides, audit requirements).

The minimum gross salary for this position is € 3.499,78 per month (based on full-time employment) in accordance with the collective agreement. However, there is a willingness to offer a higher salary depending on experience and qualifications.
