T he Opportunity We are looking for a talented Solution Architect with subject matter expertese in the UK Rail Revenue distribution within the LENNON core service to join our LENNON Transformation project team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years previous LENNON experience and be well-versed in the core skill of Cool:Gen in online and batch environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for reverse engineering existing Cool:Gen batch and online modules to support a third party supplier in the re-design and re-development in SCALA. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Review existing documentation and Cool:Gen source code to reverse engineer specifications to be provided to a third party supplier for subsequent re-development and testing and delivery into live operation. Work with existing Solution Architects to redesign the infrastructure in a way that allows a smooth transition away from an Oracle Cool:Gen application to a new DBMS (TDB) and SCALA application. Also requires a strong background with Oracle, unix scripting, PL/SQL, SQL, C, batch job scheduling as they all form part of the overall design that will need to be considered when documenting existing functionality. Working with the existing LENNON support teams to support the Third Party Supplier with any questions they may have on any aspect of LENNON functionality, acting as their single point of contact for them to allow the BAU support teams to concentrate their efforts on the Live service. Form a good working relationship with the existing BAU support teams to ensure a smooth transition of knowledge Support the Third Party and LENNON Testing teams with the testing of the re-engineered solution. In practice this means: Excellent problem-solving skills that allow you to troubleshoot issues effectively in a fast-paced environment. Skilled in Cool:Gen, Oracle, unix scripting, PL/SQL, SQL, C, batch job scheduling. Ability to pull together existing design documentation and source code across multiple technologies into one coherent design. Look for and take opportunities for improvements in the architecture and application. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team that will include external suppliers, as well as, working
