Job description
The Belgian-Dutch remote mine countermeasure replacement program (rMCM) has been awarded in 2019 to Belgium Naval & Robotics, the consortium made up of Naval Group and Exail. This consortium was chosen by the Belgian and Royal Netherlands navies to supply twelve mine countermeasures vessels and a toolbox composed of around 100 drones. We are looking for a Field Service/Application Engineer M/F to join the engineering team at Naval Group Belgium, Brussels site. You will contribute to the development, design, test, and validation of MCM solutions. The role requires frequent collaboration with other core disciplines. More specifically, the main responsibilities include: · Perform and manage capability and performance tests; · Analyse technical specifications to understand the needs and propose tailored solutions and field applications; · Participate in bidding phase by estimating implementation effort, time, and resources required for all field applications; · Resolve technical issues and provide technical troubleshooting as needed; · Support IVVQ activities., * The product architecture and development in collaboration with engineering teams to ensure successful MCM product deployment.
- The strategy (make or buy) of development, validation, deployment and maintenance of tools.
- Technical specifications that outline the scope, objectives, and deliverables of the project.
- Sub-contractor coordination on the technical aspects of the projects, ensuring all parties are aligned and working towards the same objectives, in particular regarding field serves and applications.
Requirements
You hold a M. Sc. degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar area. You have a minimum of 5 years' experience in field applications, system design, IVVQ or related technical fields. You have the following skills and qualifications:
- Strong capacity to take ownership of technical and complex topics.
- Experience with IVVQ process and system engineering.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Motivated to solve problems and able to come up with creative solutions.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative but also function well in a team.
- Knowledge or experience of agile development methods.
- Basic experience in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
- Willingness to travel in Belgium and abroad (about 25% over the year).
- Proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of Dutch or French.
