Associate Director, Data Science - Digital Finance

Responsibilities * Innovate by transforming how we solve problems using data management, Data Science, and AI. * Articulate solutions/recommendations to business users and manage data effectively for analytical uses. * Present analytical content concisely and influence non-technical stakeholders to drive major strategic decisions. * Coordinate, prioritize and allocate team resources to critical initiatives, manage change proactively, and balance multiple priorities. * Collaborate with internal and external partners, cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems and propose operational efficiencies. * Proactively evaluate the need for technology and novel scientific software, visualization tools, and new approaches to computation to increase efficiency and quality of the Novartis data science practice. * Provide agile consulting, guidance, and non-standard exploratory analysis of problems. * Independently identify research articles and reproduce/apply methodology to

Novartis business problems, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to cross-industry work streams. * Make right choices from a breadth of tools, data sources and analytical techniques to answer critical business questions. * Ensure exemplary communication with all stakeholders, including senior business leaders. * Manage a team of five data scientists. Requirements * 8+ years of relevant experience in Data Science. * 3+ years of experience leading teams. * Extensive experience with programming languages like Python and R. * Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred). * Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). * Data Management, Data Quality, Data Strategy, Data Governance and related capabilities. * Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience (English). * People management skills and experience leading teams in complex data science projects.
