Job description

  • Review and critically assess two technical solutions that could automate index creation.
  • Evaluate the solution's architecture, data flows, and automation capabilities against the requirements and objectives outlined in the commission.
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in the proposed approach, with particular attention to scalability, data integrity, and ethical considerations.
  • Provide recommendations for technical enhancements, alternative approaches, or adaptations to better meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a solution architect in data-driven environments, ideally within policing, public safety, or similar sectors.
  • Strong background in data engineering and data architecture, including experience with large-scale data integration, ETL processes, and automation.
  • Familiarity with data science and machine learning concepts, especially as applied to risk modelling and predictive analytics.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and modern data tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, R Studio).
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and ethical considerations in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in producing technical evaluation reports and actionable recommendations.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of police crime data systems and multi-agency data sharing.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and sprint-based delivery.
  • Previous involvement in solution evaluation or technical due diligence.
  • Experience working within multi-supplier rainbow teams at pace
