Job description
- Resolve Complex Incidents: Act as the senior escalation point for issues unresolved by 1st and 2nd line teams.
- Incident Ownership: Lead the resolution of high-priority incidents to minimise disruption to the client's operations.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate recurring problems and implement long-term corrective measures.
- Advanced Service Requests: Deliver specialist service requests, upgrades, and custom configurations.
- Infrastructure Implementation: Plan and implement infrastructure changes with minimum downtime.
- Documentation: Produce detailed documentation and knowledge-base articles for complex solutions.
- Support & Training: Mentor junior support teams to elevate overall service capability.
- System Monitoring & Optimisation: Review system performance and implement efficiency improvements.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with third-party providers to resolve advanced hardware or software issues.
- Upgrades & Updates: Manage software patches, firmware updates, and system upgrades.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and test robust recovery plans for critical systems.
- Security Implementation: Maintain strong security measures to protect client data and systems.
- Infrastructure Planning: Assess future infrastructure needs to support business growth.
- Service Performance Analysis: Identify service bottlenecks and implement targeted improvements.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure systems and processes meet regulatory and industry standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years proven 3rd line experience within an MSP environment
- Must live locally to North London
- Expert-level M365 administration, including Conditional Access and Intune compliance configured from scratch
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware or Hyper-V, Windows Server, AD, DNS, RDS
- Clear, systematic problem-solving methodology
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Proficiency in PowerShell able to read, modify, and write automation scripts
Highly Valued Skills
- Microsoft certifications
- Experience with ConnectWise PSA & Asio RMM, or similar tools
- Azure infrastructure deployment and management
- Firewall administration (Fortinet, Draytek, or equivalent platforms)
- Experience building automated monitoring/remediation workflows in RMM systems
